The seaside resort of Morgat

Discover Morgat

Formerly a sardine and then tuna fishing port, it was converted into a seaside resort at the end of the 19th century thanks to the involvement of Armand Peugeot (car manufacturer).

Fallen under the spell of the Morgat cove, he built the Grand Hotel de la Mer. He also bought a lot of land, which he sold to wealthy Parisian families to build villas along the beach.

Following Armand Peugeot’s investment, Morgat gradually turned to tourism.

Boat and walking tours

Head for the marina, where you’ll find the delicious Landié ice-cream parlour, a must, where stopping for an ice cream or a waffle is a must!

A little further along the first pier is the Vedettes Sirènes ticket office, offering tours of the sea caves.

Directly opposite the Sirènes launch counter is a staircase that takes you up into the pine forest, offering a bird’s-eye view of the marina and Douarnenez bay. This is the starting point for THE hike of the peninsula.
